Reflection:

Joseph forgives his brothers, finds out about his father, and decides to help. The brothers who wanted to kill him are starving. Yet, Joseph did not want to take revenge on them. They traveled from far away, and they were hungry. He satisfied their hunger. He became worried after learning information about his father and his younger brother. All of this was only known to Joseph. He thought he would never see his father and brothers in his life. But the gracious God made Joseph an authority and, after some years, brought a famine and united the father and sons. This is God's plan, a sign of Joseph's goodness. Joseph's brothers going to their country and telling about their brother's generosity is, in a way, spreading the Gospel. This is a good example to show that the goodness of the person in whom God dwells is recognized. In the Gospel reading, Jesus chooses twelve people for the purpose of spreading the Gospel and gives them a new name: Apostles. He called them by name, made them his disciples, and gave them all authority. He also gave them some great powers. And the God who called you and me is ready to be with us and send us to spread the Gospel. Let us continue our journey with the Lord, accepting the Lord's call, trusting that God will be with us even if all obstacles arise, helping us, and leading us forward.
